Just got out of a lecture
after listening to one of my professors go off on an elitist tangent about how any academic who doesn’t get her or her PhD at a prestigious institution will never do anything good with their lives. Left me feeling pretty frosty.

Grad school is super hard. Don’t do it unless you’re really, really sure you want to.
Leave it to me
to kind of hate when it’s sunny and spring-like in Seattle. All it does is remind me of how much I’d love to be riding my bike in Athens in how impossible that is right now. Grey skies and rain may not be ideal, but they’re at least distinctly Seattle and for that reason help me stay focused.

Just wrote my first student recommendation
Someone from one of my section classes last quarter added me as a reference for their study abroad application. I don’t remember them that well, but it does kind of make me feel like a boss.
